Marjal de Almardá nature

Wetland located next to the north coast of Sagunto (Almardá beach). Rest of the old lagoons that extended along the Valencian coast from the Belcaire River, to the south of the Palancia River. They are freshwater pools from the aquifers of the Sierra de Espadán that emerge naturally through the ullals (eyes). In addition, the surroundings maintain part of the traditional agricultural landscape, with rice crops in spring-summer and large areas flooded in winter.
