Roman funerary monument

Archaeological remains in the schoolyard of the Jose Romeu. It has been interpreted as part of a possible Roman funerary monument that would be comprised in the eastern Saguntine necropolis. His poor preservation raises many questions about its architectural composition and chronology. 💡Curiosities Externally, it was lined with blocks of gray dolomitic limestone, forming an opus quadratum. The lower part presents an interruption that can respond to the existence of a door that served as access to a vaulted anteroom of reduced dimensions. This door had to be double with an inward opening. 🗺 How to get there? From the Town Hall you can reach the funerary monument in 8 minutes on foot. 📍 Surroundings In its surroundings you can find the Door of the Roman Circus or the Via del Pórtico.
